About AAPI

ASSOCIATION FOR AUTONOMOUS PSYCHOANALYTIC INSTITUTES (AAPI), incorporated May 1999, is the first national and international interdisciplinary and multi-theoretical psychoanalytic association with autonomous psychoanalytic institutes as affiliate institute members and psychoanalysts and psychoanalytic candidates as individual members. Currently, with 23 affiliate Institutes, AAPI serves to enhance these Institutes and their members in the joint pursuit of psychoanalytic education, research, and continued development of the theory and practice of psychoanalysis, and to represent the affiliate Institutes and their members in professional advocacy matters. AAPI organizes scientific meetings, represents psychoanalysis to the lay community, and seeks to develop a psychoanalytic journal devoted to the comparative study of psychoanalytic models. As an individual member, you are listed in a national and international directory, serving in part as an organized network for referrals. Individual members can participate in ongoing educational projects on the Web and will be invited to participate in original paper presentations. We invite autonomous psychoanalytic institutes, psychoanalysts, and psychoanalytic candidates to join AAPI.
